And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
Introduction
Introduction
God was completely forthcoming to Abraham because of his character.
There are not very many people you can be completely honest with. Your spouse should be one of those people.
This is one of the many problems with living in fornication. Why would you give your body to someone you have to lie to about who you really are and what you really want?
And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
He loved her but wasn’t married to her. They both had secrets.
Marriage is not meant to be a transaction. Before you can marry someone they must disclose any secret affairs. There must be trust.
Samson had great strength, but he never disclosed where it came from.
And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.
And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.
Seven Fresh Bowstrings
Seven New Ropes
Seven Locks of Hair weaved together.
(Justification, Sanctification, Baptism of the Holy Ghost)
And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.
And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a rasor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
What a terrible mistake. It wasn’t long until he found himself with his eyes poked out, grinding Israelite corn at the Philistine mill. A laughingstock.
God will not reveal His secrets to a Bride who is not faithful.
Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the Lord.
How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;
In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;
But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
Adam, before he got to his wife, she was pregnated with evil seed. She took the devil’s lie and tried to mix it with God’s Word, and it caused death. The first child was born from her had death, every child since has had death.
Jehovah’s wife, when He brought her up out of Egypt and sanctified her and started her on the road, what did she do? She done the same thing. Jehovah taken His wife over to the promised land, on the road up there she heard a false prophet by the name of Balaam, and what did she do? “Why, there’s no difference in us, let’s all unite together, and be one family.”
That’s what the bride has done with the world, united with the world with her creeds and things, and denied the Word of God, saying, “Days of miracles is past. There’s no such a thing as the baptism of the Holy Spirit.” And where’s she at now? Divorced.
Jesus’ bride had done the same thing that Jehovah’s bride did, and the same thing that Adam’s bride did. Yes, just exactly. The Bible said, “The mouth of three witnesses let every word be established.” There is three churches, three brides, all of them done the same thing. 62-0319 - The End-Time Sign Seed
There has been churches, churches, brides, brides, churches, brides, brides. But there has got to come One! Hallelujah! There has to come a real Bride!
There must come One that’s not only got the Mechanics, but the Dynamics of It, makes that Church live, move in the Power of His resurrection. 65-0418M - It Is The Rising Of The Sun
He had to have a Bride He could reveal His secrets to, so He predestined one to come, and a Word that would keep them from falling.
“Predestinated!” There’s the mystery. He, before Christ or anything else was ever on earth, you see His great mystery, that He chose the Bride. Knowing Eve would fall, from disbelieving the Word, knowing that she would fall; but He would choose a Bride that would not fall, that would hold to that Word regardless of what all the rest of the world had to say about It.
They would hold to that Word! They are predestinated to stand there, “the adoption of children by Jesus Christ,” predestinated the Church to that great, glorious stand! 63-0728 - Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed
Someone He could trust, to reveal His secrets to!
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Now, how great is God’s grace, to reveal His secrets to us in this day! Now, we all will believe that we’re living in the last day. We believe that. And remember, the secrets was to be revealed in the last day. 63-0319 - The Second Seal
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, But he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Now, God’s secret mystery, He had before the world began. Now, back in the back part of God’s mind, there was something that He was trying and was going to achieve, and He had a motive in doing it, in order to let Himself be expressed. 63-0728 - Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed
Look! What was once God’s great secret, great mysterious secret in His mind, is now put in the hearts of the believer, that is, the Body of Christ.
What was God’s once great secret in His mind, before the foundation of the world, is now made manifest. Think of it, friend. Oh, oh, I’m…
I’m sure we don’t, we don’t get it. Well, I can’t see it the way I ought to, and I’m sure you don’t. See?
But God’s great mystery, what the Eternal God had as a mystery, has now been unfolded in Jesus Christ, then given right down to His Church. What was once in God’s mind is now in the Body of Christ. Jesus making love to the Church, His Bride, whispering secrets to Her.
You know how you tell your wife things, you know, the little girl you’re going to marry. You love her so much, you just tell her the secrets, and get her up next to you, and love you and everything. You know how it is.
That’s what God, Christ, is doing to the Church. See? He is letting Her know the secrets, just the secrets. Not these flirters; I mean His Wife (See? All right, now look.) knows, by having the revelation of His secret made known to them, by His grace!
How the grace of God! People, I hope you don’t think this sounds personal, to a bunch of people, or this, that; but the secret that God is sharing with the whole Church, if they would just receive it. It doesn’t mean just me or just you. It means the Church, that He is trying to get into it. 63-0728 - Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed
Look it, having the revelation of this secret made known to them by His grace! Look! When this great revelation, revealed mystery, is made known to you, then you denounce all the things of the world. 63-0728 - Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed
You cannot have true revelation without the New Birth.
Before He will reveal His secrets to you you must be fully surrendered to Him. He will not share you with the world.
You must be washed by the water of the Word. You can’t be married to Him, and keep a secret room, a secret bank account, a secret sin.
He knows it anyway, but you must be willing to open the door.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
What if I come to your house, and knocked at the door, you said, “Step in, Brother Branham”? I step in. “But you stand right here. Don’t you go to investing around, rooting around in my house.” See?
Now, do you know, inside the door of the human heart we got little secret compartments? Oh, we don’t want to admit it, but it’s the truth. Sure, we got little secret compartments.
Yes, sir. We like to call…We welcome, in our heart, but we don’t want to make Him our Lord. We don’t want to go to hell, so, “Jesus, You step in the door, so I won’t go to hell, but You can’t be my Lord.”
Now, Lord is “ownership.” That means, when you let Him in as Lord, He controls everything. He is home. 63-0223 - A Door In A Door
Peter ties this to marriage.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
He is not a dictator, He is Lord. He has access to every room. His motives are my motives, His goals are my goals. There is nothing hidden.
We must welcome Him: “Lord, come into my house. If there’s anything, if there’s anything in here that You want, help Yourself. I’m Yours. You are mine. You honor me. The great King, the Creator of heavens and earth, has knocked at my door. And I want You to come in, Lord.
Lord, be my Lord. Take me. May You do me anything You want to. Any bad thing that’s in me, discover every secret that’s in my heart. Go in every door. Search me out, Lord, see what’s wrong with me. And whatever is wrong, show me, Lord.
Throw it out the door. I want You in here. I welcomed You in, to be my Lord. I haven’t got that blessing, Lord. Clean me now.” 63-0223 - A Door In A Door
Bro. Branham addresses three doors in the human heart.
My Private Life
Pride
Faith
We want to look at “My Private Life”
1. My Private Life
1. My Private Life
The first thing, as you go into the human heart, on the right side as you go in, there’s a little door there, and it’s called “my private life.” Now, you don’t want nobody fooling in that. “Now, if I want to do anything, that’s my business. I’ll join church, and I’ll go down there. But, preacher, don’t you tell me what I got to do.”
Oh, yeah. See? “Now, I know the Bible says That, but I don’t believe It.” Oh, boy! See? Then, you think Jesus would ever stay in a heart like that? Certainly not. He comes in to be Lord.
Now, “That little door of my own, my own private life, now, that’s all right. I’ll be a member of your church. I’ll join the Full Gospel Business Men. But, now, don’t go to telling me I have to receive this Holy Ghost and carry on like that.”
That’s that own private life. See? You’ll never get the Lordship of Jesus doing that. He’ll just turn right around and walk out the door. 63-0223 - A Door In A Door
Oh, you don’t want nobody messing with your private life, telling you that you can’t drink any more, you can’t smoke any more, you can’t go to your ladies’ club and play cards any more. No, you don’t want to fool with that. But I tell you: If you ever let Jesus become Lord of your heart, you’ll quit it. He will satisfy every longing.
You’re ashamed of Him. You’re ashamed that you bring reproach upon your people, upon your friends. I’d rather every person in the world forsake me, but never let me bring reproach upon Him. Let me live by the Word, the Word of God. My private life…
“Now, we…Every afternoon we go so-and-so.” And some people even Christians, oh, people that call themselves Christians, that profess to be sainted people, they’re falling so far away. They don’t want any more of the rulership of Christ.
I stay at a motel. And last night across from it was a little church. And, oh, I was setting in my room, and I heard something crying. I couldn’t get the window open, because the windows don’t open. I run down the steps and looked around the house.
I said, “That sounds good to me.” And a bunch of people standing out in the yard laughing at the people across the street in a little meeting, crying over a soul, praying through to God. I said, “It sounds like heaven to me.” Let Christ come in; be Lord, free. “He who the Son makes free is free indeed.”
If you’re bound up by your social standing, your social prestige…American people is contaminated by social prestiges. Your churches is contaminated with gatherings of soup suppers, and bunco games, and lottery, and nonsense in the churches.
Some of the preachers letting out early on Sunday morning so the members can go fishing or hunting. Fishing and hunting’s all right, but it don’t have to be done on Sunday. That’s the Lord’s day.
A lot of people let out their churches early in our country, because the saloons open at twelve o’clock. They can spend a little afternoon at peace…Any man that does that is wrong with God.
Would it be an evil thing for you, or an unusual thing, to see a pig in a barnyard, on the manure pile eating? Certainly not, that’s his nature. But when you see a lamb on that same contaminated place, now that would really be something horrible, because it shows that that lamb has been perverted. He took the nature of a hog. 60-0711 - The Door Inside The Door
Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.
Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; Try my reins and my heart.
Test my innermost desires.
For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: And I have walked in thy truth.
I have not sat with vain persons, Neither will I go in with dissemblers.
עָלַם ˓âlam, aw-lam’; a prim. root; to veil from sight, i.e. conceal (lit. or fig.):— × any ways, blind, dissembler, hide (self), secret (thing).
I will not keep company with those who keep secrets, or with those who shut the door.
I have hated the congregation of evil doers; And will not sit with the wicked.
I will wash mine hands in innocency: So will I compass thine altar, O Lord:
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all thy wondrous works.
Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, And the place where thine honour dwelleth.
Gather not my soul with sinners, Nor my life with bloody men:
In whose hands is mischief, And their right hand is full of bribes.
But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: Redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
My foot standeth in an even place: In the congregations will I bless the Lord.
The next chapter is the mystery of the rapture.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When sin has been repented, there is nothing hidden behind the door. All it takes is one moment, and it can be as though you never did it in the first place.
Conclusion.
Conclusion.
He wants to talk to you. Open the door, let Him in.
Search Me Oh God.
